Autumn meeting
Meetup at La Paillasse, Paris to present the association and the activities to be developed for 2016.  About 30 motivated persons were present to share and discuss about these new projects.  A great new year in perspective.
 
COY11 (Conference of Youth)
The association had a stand to present its activities to young students and entrepreneurs from all over the world who feel concerned by civic environmental responsibility issues.
 
October 2015
A Science & Sail weekend gave the opportunity to 10 members to sample and observe plankton in the framework of Objectif Planction program and to sail under various weather conditions.
 
July 2015
Fourteen young  people have joined the two scientific summer camp organised with Objectif Sciences International. During these camps, they sailed on Astrolabe's fleet boats and sampled for Ifremer, Oceanopolis and Plancton du monde.

Science & Sail weekend
During the “Objectif Plancton” operation organised in Concarneau (Brittany, France), the association participates to the sampling operations with one of its boat.
Ocean Sampling Day
OSD is a worldwide citizen science operation which aims to sample all the sea of the world the same day. The association participates to this operation with a local club in Belgium.
 
Mai 2015
Open Bidouille camp
Plankton sampling workshop and design of DIY microscope adapted to the observation of plankton with smartphones.
Maker Faire Paris
As last year, the association has a stand in the fair and invites the interested people to meet its members there.

General Meeting
The first General Meeting of the association takes place on April 18th in La Paillasse, Paris.

Maker Faire Saint-Malo
The association has a stand in the fair (April 11th and 12th) and presents its activities in a conference.
 
February-March 2015
Beginning of our first expedition in the Pacific Ocean.The first crew board mid-february and come back end of March. The scientific programs has started and the adventure is launched!

The association participates to the SenseCamp organised by MakeSense, an opportunity to move forward on different projects and to create working groups around ocean sciences.

Astrolabe Expeditions Masterclass. Presentation of the association and workshop on ocean sciences.

An expedition in the Pacific ocean on a sailboat from the Astrolabe Expeditions fleet is being created. For that multiple-scientific-theme expedition, you will be able to get on board
 
September 2014
First sailing-science weekend proposed by the association. We took part in a plankton sampling day in the context of "Objectif Plancton"  a program supported by Océanopolis.
 
Summer 2014
Work is progressing well on the construction site of Astrolabe !  The engine is being repaired, the hull has been entirely sanded (what a work...) and currently coated before being stratified.
We are now working on partnerships and events to be launched in 2015!!
 
June 2014
On Saturday and Sunday June 21st and 22nd, Astrolabe Expéditions will take part in its first fair. This is the a Maker Faire event, which will take place in Paris at the "Centquatre-Paris" 5 crucial Street 75019.
Our association will run a stand to present our actions and goals. We will propose many entertainments (plankton observations, quiz games about cetaceans, etc ....) and give a talk about citizens science programs at sea.

Our crowd-funding campaign was a full success! We reach more than 160% of our objective! Once again, thank you!

We put in place a crowd-funding platform on Ulule to finance our project and allow everyone to support us!
January 2014
Launch of the association and memberships are now available.
December 2013
Creation of the association "Astrolabe Expéditions." A scientific expeditions association at sea accessible for everyone. The project is now organized around an association that will allow all its members to participate in expeditions and their implementation. Our association will also give them the possibility to learn sailing, diving and take part in marine sciences programs such as cetaceans watching, photography at sea, etc.
 
September 2013
Work is progressing and Astrolabe has now a new plywood deck! That means during this coming winter we will be able to work nice and warm!
 
May 2013
First trial! We rent a sailboat for carrying out a marine mammals observation cruise in the English Channel (dolphin and grey seal).
It was the perfect opportunity to test the approach protocols, observation equipments and also to figure out what we really need on board to prepare Astrolabe for scientific expeditions.
